Cafe Arte NERUDIANO

X

Thanks to Café Arte Nerudiano, Erna stayed in Chiloé. Four years ago, she found this café with its appealing name in her Lonely Planet, and she was determined to find that coffee shop in Ancud that honoured Pablo Neruda. Jaime Meléndez, its owner, won her heart instantly and she decided to make Ancud her home. Four years, and three children later, Jaime and Erna still promote art and culture on the island, making Café Arte Nerudiano a special place for locals and tourists to meet, bond and have a good time over some ground coffee, delicious cocktails or tasty sandwiches.

Over the years, they have had tourists from all over the world visiting their coffee shop, which has led to some great friendships. Whenever they are asked about what to do and to see on the island, Erna and Jaime give them plenty of useful tips and guide them through the maze of activities to be done in Chiloé. With this experience and the love of travelling, Erna has started up her own travel agency Verde Mar, which will always be linked to the café.

CAFÉ ARTE NERUDIANO offers ground coffee, natural juices, sandwiches, quesadillas, tablas, pies, cakes, ice cream and cocktails. The café is situated on the second floor and has a light filled balcony.
